Description
The epic and unexpectedly long journey to a finished, posable SARA model continues (for some reason my browser's spellcheck doesn't recognize "posable" as a correctly-spelled word). As you can see I am using mostly blendshapes for her facial animation, in addition to the usual transform tools on her eyes. I tried putting a jaw bone on her jaw with the joint skeleton tool, but I couldn't figure how to to make it work correctly with the blendshapes on top on then, so I got rid of that for now. A joint tool WOULD be more useful. I also added teeth, and because the bottom row of teeth is a separate object from her head object, I had to learn Driver Sets and Driven Sets in MAYA too, which ultimately meant an extra hour or two of work I didn't plan on last night. I got enough sleep though.
SARA isn't very energetic in her personality, so chances are I will never use this kind of exaggerated expression in real work. I just need to keep as many variations of her expressions in mind as possible.

This is triggering my doll phobia lol. I would say look into skyrim nexus and source filmmaker for tips on skeleton rigs and textures. SFM has a lot of detailed online tutorials.
